Painful or irregular periods
Painful periods (dysmenorrhea) refer to cramps or pain felt in the lower abdomen before or during menstruation. Irregular periods involve menstrual cycles that vary in frequency, duration, or blood flow.
Early menopause
Early menopause refers to the cessation of menstruation before the age of 40. It is caused by an abnormal decline in ovarian activity, leading to a drop in female hormones (estrogens).
Fertility
Infertility is the inability of a couple to conceive after 12 months of regular unprotected intercourse. It may involve the woman, the man, or both, and requires a precise medical diagnosis.
Pregnancy
Pregnancy monitoring involves regular medical check-ups to monitor the health of both the mother and the baby. It begins as soon as the pregnancy is confirmed and continues until delivery.
Contraception
Contraception refers to all the methods used to prevent unwanted pregnancy. It can be temporary, permanent, hormonal, or mechanical, and is chosen based on each person's individual needs.
Childbirth
Childbirth is the process by which a woman brings her baby into the world. It marks the end of pregnancy and can occur either naturally or through a cesarean section, depending on the medical condition of the mother and baby.
Post-partum
Postpartum refers to the period following childbirth, usually the first 6 weeks. It is a critical phase of physical, hormonal, and emotional recovery for both the mother and the baby.
Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding is the act of feeding a baby with breast milk directly from the breast. It is recommended exclusively for the first 6 months, and then alongside solid foods up to 2 years or longer.
Resuming sexual activity
Resuming sexual activity after childbirth varies for each woman. In general, it is possible between 4 to 6 weeks postpartum, once the bleeding (lochia) has stopped and the pain has subsided.
